it was thomas hoepker, the famous magnum photographer, who once said “you take one, maybe two pictures a year”. this is my picture 2021. still some kind of lockdown, i am heading to my beloved swabian jura, trying to write my book, but then i went out because the weather turned bad in june to take pictures for my book. love the light.

driving up all the way from stuttgart to the lofoten islands in wintertime. just fantastic.

this is my interior photography of the new vaund store stuttgart designed by vaust studio

white snow and black rocks with grey sky in perfect harmony. a picture of my series “steingletscher” got a nomination at the black & white spider awards.

my three pictures of the temppeliaukio church in helsinki won a prize in an architectural photography contest about the architecture of this wonderful rock church.

one of the most beautiful and desirable places in stuttgart, the villa berg, is finally being revived by atelier brückner after decades of slumber.

another personal work that belongs to the genre of the new topographic movement in which i have been photographing now for about two decades.

i took the photos of a construction site in the city center of stuttgart for the annual report of stinag ag designed by werbung etc.

it was very sad to hear that the fantastic brazilian dancer ismael ivo died of covid 19. i took these pictures at the stuttgarter theaterhaus in 2006 at the play “apocalypse”.

it was thomas hoepker, the famous magnum photographer, who once said “you take one, maybe two pictures a year”. this is my picture 2020. i took it in klagenfurt between the first and the second wave. for me it was one of these very rare peaceful moments of the covid 19 year, being in holiday, but the old man with his crutch and the “zu vermieten” sign shows the reality of this very special year and especially what the future will bring from it.
