it was thomas hoepker, the famous magnum photographer, who once said “you take one, maybe two pictures a year”. this is my picture 2011. i took it through the window of my car on the 26th of august 2011 at the susten pass in switzerland after a little thunderstorm came down.

opening on thursday 27th october 2011, 6pm – 9pm, vero linzmeier galerie, pestalozzistrasse 105, 10625 berlin-charlottenburg
group exhibition together with florian selig and jörg steck
i’m showing my latest berlin project “rowhousechurches”:
Rowhousechurches – Squeezing In Some Spirituality
Astonishing things come along with the growth of cities. One characteristic of a large city is the lack of space. As a result a city’s churches often do not stand free as they do in more rural areas. The visitor cannot circle the church and quite often even just sees its front side. Numerous variations of those so-called “Rowhousechurches” are spread all over Berlin. They line up like residential buildings. However, they are different: taller, more striking and explicitly spiritual.
